 y to America! The composer Kris Bowers\, with his award-winning music for 
 films such as Green Book and series such as Bridgerton\, has enjoyed a met
 eoric rise. His concerto For a Younger Self was written especially for Cha
 rles Yang\, a violinist with the energy of a rock star\, who now brings hi
 s virtuosity to Berlin. The concert will conclude with Aaron Copland’s S
 ymphony No. 3\, which Leonard Bernstein once described as ‘an American m
 onument\, like the Washington Monument or the Lincoln Memorial’. Given t
 his\, it is hardly surprising that Copland incorporates the theme of his F
 anfare for the Common Man into the symphony’s final movement. Taking tha
 t work as her point of departure\, Joan Tower wrote a piece that gives voi
 ce to the women overlooked by her male colleague: Fanfare for the Uncommon
  Woman.
