Sinfoniekonzert 6:

Sergej S. Prokofjew  Konzert für Violine und Orchester Nr. 2 g-Moll op. 63
Miklós Rózsa  Filmmusik zu  El Cid; Sinfonia concertante  für Violine, Violoncello und Orchester op. 29
Erich Wolfgang Korngold  Filmmusik zu  The Sea Hawk From Russia to the movies – from Prokofiev to Korngold! General Music Director Ainārs Rubiķis carries off the audience on a musical world tour – and he’s in excellent company. The exceptional violinist Daniel Hope is joined by Belgian-French cellist Camille Thomas whose interpretations of Fin-de-siècle works brought her to stardom. Together Hope and Thomas will explore the field of tension between Romanticism and Modernity in Miklós Rózsas Sinfonia concertante. From Rózsas – who wrote the music for cinematic classics like El Cid and Ben Hur – it’s just one small step to Erich Wolfgang Korngold and his Oscar nominated soundtrack to the adventure film The Sea Hawk starring Errol Flynn – a musical world tour!
