Abonnementkonzert III
Tue, 15. Dec 2020, 20:00

Among the composers who caused a stir in Paris in the 1830s and 1840s, Berlioz and Chopin were certainly among the most original, the former due to his orchestral music and the latter, his piano music. They had a significant impact on Romantic music, whereas Schönberg tried to transcend it. His early tone poem »Pelleas and Melisande«, however, shows that he was actually rooted in its aesthetics.
