The premiere of Richard Wagner's »Götterdämmerung« and the subsequent three »Ring« cycles promise to be a highlight of the 2013 Wagner year. Daniel Barienboim, the leading Wagner conductor of our time, conducts the Staatskapelle Berlin. Guy Cassiers and his creative teams, among them choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, are responsible for staging and stage design.

The entire cycle will be performed for the first time by Staatsoper Berlin on the occasion of the Easter FESTTAGE festival (»Das Rheingold« on 23 March, »Die Walküre« on 24 March, »Siegfried« on 27 March, »Götterdämmerung« on 31 March).
